1. Do not use oil or fats in any form while cooking or eating.
2. Spices and condiments, Papads, Appalams, Chutneys, Pickles should be avoided.
3. Avoid meat, Chicken, Fish, Egg yolk.
4. Follow the Diabetic diet strictly
5. Use normal salt unless specified.
6. Use only skimmed milk powder for Coffee/Tea and Buttermilk.
7. Pulses or Dal are permitted as thin dal.
8. Take only a bland diet.
9. Take plenty of diluted Butter milk, clear vegetable soups, lime juice, Tender Coconut water or weak Tea in between meals.
DIET : LIQUID / RYLES TUBE
1500 Kcal 2500 ml/day
TIME DIET
6.00 A.M Milk 150 ml
8.30 A.M. Nestum Baby Cereal 2tbsp. with Water 200ml or conjee 200ml.
10.30 A.M. Butter milk 200ml
12.30 P.M Nestum 2 Tbsp. with Milk 200ml or dal water (or) 200ml of Conjee with 100ml of curds
03.30 P.M Milk 150 ml
06.00 P.M. Sweet lime juice 200 ml
08.00 P.M Nestum 2 tbsp. With Strained vegetable soup 200 ml. or conjee 200 ml.
09.30 P.M. Milk 150 ml.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. This diet contains 1450 ml of fluids. Use the leftover amount of fluids as water ( To rinse the Ryles tube before and after feeds)
2. All feeds should be carefully prepared without lumps: neither too hot nor cold.
3. Fruit juice and vegetable soups should be strained through a strainer.
4. One level Teaspoon of butter can be used for Lunch time and dinner time feeds.
